Model 2 CURVE neck rest kits include:
✔ CURVE neck rest ✔ Mountain stem ✔ “L” or “T” aluminum tower tube
✔ Tower end cap ✔ Shim if the horizontal depending upon your trike make and
✔ Quick release lever, seat brace tube isn’t model. Catrike Expeditions & 700's use "L" towers.
spacer & hole caps 1” OD
The height of the "L" and "T" tower tubes varies with your trike make and model.
The vertical tube arm can be easily trimmed with a hacksaw once you have adjusted
the neck rest for your perfect fit. An extra end cap is included to seal the vertical tower arm once it is trimmed.
The horizontal arm of both the "L" and "T" towers is a perfect place to mount a tail light.
Mounting a neck rest on a Trident offers a unique challenge. The latest CURVE kit for the Trident is different from the other Model 2 kits because the location for mounting the neck rest base is down near the bottom of the seat. The Trident Model 2 offset "T" design is a response to customer requests for greater vertical and forward-rearward neck rest adjustability, while keeping the mount from interfering with the trike frame. The Trident Model 2 kit features a sliding vertical adjustment (like a seat post in a diamond frame bike) and an offset tower like the one in the pictures. The response from Trident customers has been great.
With the Gen2 CURVE kits we've kept the same features that have made the first generation CURVE kits so popular:
• The same width and curved shape.
• The same 2" thick memory foam fill.
• The same rock-solid mounting kit.
• Quick release kit comes standard.
• Extra length on "L" and "T" towers for
mounting tail lights.
• Available custom embroidery.
...and we've made some changes to make them even better:
• Less than half the weight of the original kits.
• .75" shorter top to bottom for the most comfortable fit with
no helmet interference.
• Comes standard with 2 easily-interchangeable memory foam
pads, each of a different
density so you can choose the one you like for the greatest
• Black, textured vacuum-formed base.
EarthCycles DragonFlyer hasn't been in production since 2001. Not that many were made. But recently when Don found one in great condition and wanted to add a neck rest he contacted us. We added a shim for the seat frame tube and the Model 2 kit fit perfectly.
The Gen2 Model 2 mounted on this Catrike Trail is inspired. The owner is a shorter rider, only 5'1". She has mounted her new Model 2 in a way I never imagined...very creative.
Here's what the new owner said, " I am delighted with my new headrest. The embroidery turned out great, thanks for your help on that. I am amazed at how adjustable this headrest is. I actually have it installed between the top of the mesh seat back and the bar at the top of the seat. (Yes, I do realize I am short, only 5'1".)"
The Quick Release kit allows you to remove and install your neck rest and tower in
seconds without tools. The QR Kit is perfect if you need a little extra clearance when
storing your trike, or you just want to bring your neck rest in out of the rain or cold.
The Quick Release mounts in one bolt hole of the base mtb stem. The bolt can be
mounted on either side of the stem, meaning the stem can be mounted on the right or
left side of the trike's seat brace tube. And it can be easily retrofitted to Gen1 CURVE kits.
Check out this video to see the QR Kit in action.
